Do you know the new solar viewpoint of Tristaina?

Don't you know the new solar viewpoint of Tristaina yet? Read on and discover all its curiosities.

This summer you have one more reason to come to Andorra: the new Tristaina viewpoint, which is located on a peak and is also a sundial, with many curiosities.

A new spot to enjoy the natural landscape of Andorra
July saw the opening of the new Tristaina viewpoint, which crowns the Peyreguils peak in Arcalís. It borrows its name from the group of lakes of the same name, as from here you can see the Ordino valley and the Pico de Arcalís from a bird's eye view. In addition, due to its geographical location, you can also see the peaks of the Auzat valley, in French territory, and the Pica d'Estats in Catalan territory, among others. And of course, you can enjoy this impressive natural spectacle with all your senses.
The viewpoint is a circular metal structure suspended above the ground. It has a diameter of 25 metres and a width of 1.25 metres, and will allow you to enjoy 360º views.

A lookout that is a sundial with a view of a solar mountain
This viewpoint has a different characteristic to others, and that is that it is also a sundial. In the centre is a 27-metre mast that marks the solar time on the structure. It is inclined at 42.55º, which is the latitude of the lookout in geographical coordinates.
Another of the viewpoint's curiosities is that it has views of the Arcalís Peak, which has a singular effect once a year. Every 7th August at 7.37 am for 3 minutes the sun can be seen through a hole in the mountain.

How to get to the new Tristaina solar viewpoint?
To get there you have to go to Ordino-Arcalís station. Once at the station you will have to take 1 cable car and 1 chairlift and finish with a 15-minute walk to reach the Peyreguils peak.
When you get to Arcalís you will have to go to the Hortell from where the Tristaina cable car will leave you at the La Coma restaurant. From here you will have to take the Creussans chairlift. The first journey takes about 5 minutes and the second 15 minutes. As you go up you can admire the landscape and the views, which are sure to surprise you, and which are the perfect preview of what awaits you once you reach the peak. Remember to wear suitable clothing and footwear as it is in the middle of the mountain, at an altitude of 2,701 metres.

A terrace with views and a good atmosphere
Once you get back to the hotel, enjoy the last few hours of the day to regain your strength on our Moët Terrace. Enjoy the sunset while you sip a cocktail in the best atmosphere in Soldeu, with views of the ski resort.

Don't wait to be told about it and come and try out the new Tristaina viewpoint, book your room and experience the mountain first hand.
