Snow activities near the hotel: A unique experience in Grandvalira!
Dare to try different ways of having fun in the snow with the activities offered by Grandvalira near the hotel.
In addition to alpine skiing, ski touring and snowboarding, Andorra's ski resorts also offer snow activities for non-skiers or to combine with these sports. At Grandvalira Resorts you will find endless proposals for all tastes to do as a family with children, with friends or as a couple. The fun is guaranteed and sometimes continues after the slopes close. We have prepared a selection for you, just to give you an idea, as there are many more. Do you want to discover them?
For the more adventurous families
We suggest three options of snow activities to enjoy with your children. However, as we mentioned at the beginning, don't forget that there are many more alternatives available.
Snake Gliss
Sledging down a snowy slope is one of the classic winter pictures. If you think so, then the Snake Gliss is for you. It's a multi-seater articulated sled driven by an instructor down several slopes from Pla de Espiolets to the village of Soldeu. This is a snow activity that can only be done after the slopes have closed, but we promise it will be worth the wait! What's more, it's close to the hotel and can be enjoyed by children aged 3 and over. So it's ideal for the whole family.
Snowshoeing
You probably already know the feeling of walking on snowshoes, but if you haven't tried it yet, this winter is the ideal opportunity. Follow the marked and signposted circuits of different levels in Grandvalira or in the resorts of Pal Arinsal or Ordino Arcalís and discover unique natural landscapes. It is also a good snow activity to do with the whole family.
Igloo building
This snow activity is ideal to combine with a day's skiing, just like the Snake Gliss, as it doesn't require a great deal of physical effort. You just need to be willing to have fun with your children and give them a hand to build an igloo following the instructor's instructions. It takes place in the Grau Roig sector of Grandvalira, a 10-minute drive from Soldeu.
For those looking for new sensations....
The options for enjoying the snow at Grandvalira Resorts are very diverse and each season will surprise you with something new.
Snowmobiling
One of the best rated and most popular snow activities are the snowmobile excursions. Experience the sensation of driving on the snow on the Pas de la Casa and Grau Roig circuits. If you like motorbikes and adrenaline, you'll love it.
First snow
Can you imagine skiing before everyone else? You have the chance to do it in the El Tarter sector with the "First snow" activity. From 8h to 9h you will ski practically alone (only with the rest of the people who have contracted this option and who, like you, will open tracks on the newly groomed slopes). Breakfast is also included so that you can continue with a full day of skiing. So, if you don't mind getting up a little early and want to feel the silence that surrounds you when the slopes are still closed to the public, this activity is for you.
Snowtubbing by Dots
Recently inaugurated at the beginning of 2023, this is one of the newest snow activities in Grandvalira. This time you will have to go to Pas de la Casa to slide down a 350-metre tubing slope, the longest in Europe. On a giant float you can reach speeds of up to 60 km/hour, glide between turns and go through two tunnels.
Night-time snow activities
These are some of the proposals that allow you to continue enjoying your passion for snow once the rest of the slopes have closed:
Night slope
If you are a big fan of skiing, you cannot miss the experience of skiing at night. The Solana/Tubs slope, located in Pas de la Casa, is still open when the rest of the resort closes. It will be lit up until 8pm so you won't lose visibility and you can use the facilities with your day, multi-day or season ski pass. The night-time atmosphere creates a special atmosphere and allows you to experience skiing in a different way in the company of the stars and the moon. Check the opening times here.
Night Snowpark
If freestyle is your passion, Grandvalira has 3 snowparks in its facilities. One of them, the Sunset Park Henrik Harlaut by night, is located in the Peretol sector (5 minutes by car from the hotel) and is open from 15h to 21h. You will be able to practice acrobatics and jumps until you get tired of it.
What is your favourite winter activity? Grandvalira offers up to 20 different ones!!!!
