Activities with children in Andorra for the long weekend in August
Escape the heat and bustle during the long weekend in August with the family to enjoy nature and the mountains.
Andorra offers a wide variety of activities in the heart of nature designed for the whole family to enjoy. It also has stunning landscapes and a pleasant climate that allows you to sleep at night on most summer nights.
Below, we suggest a perfect day trip to Andorra with children, where adventure, culture and relaxation are intertwined to create unique memories with your children.
Will you join us?
A morning of adventures in nature
Imagine waking up in a comfortable room in our 5-star hotel, with panoramic views of the Grandvalira slopes. The excitement starts early with a rich and varied breakfast in our buffet restaurant.
And full of energy, we set off for the first stop: the Maraculla circuits.
These original circuits have been specially designed for children to discover nature with their families. There are 4 circular trails, easy to access, located in La Massana, Escaldes-Engordany, Encamp and Canillo. The latter is the closest to the hotel and is dedicated to the most common mushrooms in the country. Each magic trail is themed differently to discover an emblematic point of Andorra, through activities and hidden elements along the way.
Cultural afternoon in Andorra la Vella
After a morning of discoveries, it's time to stop for a bite to eat. Lunch becomes a cultural experience in one of the local restaurants you'll find in the old quarter of the capital, where Andorran gastronomy will delight you with traditional dishes. Many of these establishments offer children's menus or dishes more suited to young gourmets.
With your batteries now recharged, it's time for the next stage of our tour. This time we suggest cultural plans in Andorra's museums. You'll find something for all tastes that will take you on a journey back in time, to see great works of art or the most curious visits, such as the Comic Museum or the Miniature Museum. If you like sports on wheels, don't miss the Bicycle Museum (Bicilab), the Motorcycle Museum or the Automobile Museum. In all of them you will see real gems exposed.
Relaxation at the spa
After exploring the country, we suggest you return to the hotel for a dip in the spa, which has a time slot reserved exclusively for families (from 1 to 6 p.m.) and where each of you will find your own moment of peace and relaxation.
Terrace at the hotel
Before dinner is the best time for parents to enjoy the Moët Terrace while you have a snack and the kids of the family have fun in the Kids Club. You can't miss the wonderful atmosphere on the terrace at sunset, enjoying the fresh, pure Pyrenean air and the best chill-out atmosphere in Soldeu.
Night excursion and stargazing
When night falls, we return to nature for an activity that children and adults alike love: stargazing. We suggest a guided excursion to see the stars from one of the skies with the least light pollution. Our guide will help you learn how to read the sky and the constellations.
The importance of rest
After an intense and varied day, it's time to go back to the room, where the comforts of a 5* hotel guarantee a good night's rest. While the children can enjoy a movie session, the parents can relax and enjoy the serenity of the night landscape.
One of the advantages of summer in the mountains is undoubtedly the drop in temperature at night. Here you will sleep cool without the need for air conditioning... A plus that will ensure a more than refreshing rest
A day in nature with a difference
The following day, the August long weekend continues with new adventures. On this occasion, we propose a 4x4 excursion.
Get ready for a unique experience exploring the mountain landscapes of Andorra in an all-terrain car. The trip starts by driving up the Tortuga ski slope to the Pla de les Pedres, moving along exciting off-road tracks and observing marmots in Riba Escorxada. The first stop is Solanelles, at 2,500 metres, with breathtaking views of Grandvalira. Then, you will reach the Cubil Lake and the orris, old shepherds' buildings, to finish at the Pessons Lake, where you will enjoy its crystal-clear waters. The excursion, 32 km and 3h30 of duration, is accessible and safe, and is carried out with 7-seater vehicles and experienced guides.
Andorra is an exceptional destination to enjoy with the whole family during the long weekend in August. From exciting adventures in nature to cultural activities and moments of relaxation. At the 5* Park Piolets hotel we make sure that every moment is unique, providing the comfort and facilities necessary for a top holiday with the whole family.
